The Allure of Fantasy
Crosswalk.com has posted the first part of an article on the allure of fantasy to young readers.
It includes quotes from Donita K. Paul author of the Dragonkeeper Chronicles, Bryan Davis author of the Dragons in our Midst series, and R.K. Mortensen author of the Landon Snow series.
It presents a good look at how fantasy is drawing in our youth, and how the genre can be used to help point them toward God.

Stuart, this is the kind of thing I think we need to do for our blog tour--find something like that article or a certain site (yours perhaps) and all of us feature it on our blogs on an agreed upon date.
It's worth a try, wouldn't you say?
Becky
Absolutely worth a try. :)
Fantasy definitely does appeal to young readers. Sort of like the romantic ideal in young girls who dream of their prince riding on a white horse to carry them away. And boys love the idea of space, aliens, other creatures and adventure.
Christian fantasy is a bonafide way to tap into that market and still inspire the youth toward a life pleasing to God. Now, if only the publishers would tap into the scifi world.
And as for a blog tour...love those! They're excellent publicity tools...not to mention a lot of fun! *g*
